Message From The Sheriff

Thank You for everything last year. We had a very busy year overall. We ended the year with 595 cases. That was 100 more cases than the year prior. We also ended the year with 19,374 calls for service into the dispatch center.

We were able to do a couple huge improvements this last year. We were able to hire a full time School Recourse Officer for the Townsend School District. This position also allows another Deputy to be covering the growing South end of Broadwater County when school is not in session for the summer. During this upcoming budget, we will be looking to allocate enough money to add one more Deputy to help cover the South end of the County this upcoming summer.

K9 Max was retired January of this year, and we were able to bring on a new K9 named Aki. Aki and his handler Deputy Rasmussen are certified and working to protect the citizens of Broadwater County.

We also were able to move some positions around in the Detention Center and hire a Jail Commander. Commander Spurlock is currently overseeing the daily operation of the Detention Center. We also promoted Zach Morris to Sergeant in the Detention Center.

We also have been doing public tours of our Office, Detention Center, and Dispatch Center. This is a great way to see the daily operations of the Sheriff's Office and learn how we operate.

I am looking forward to another year as your Sheriff. I had the opportunity to learn and grow a lot last year. I am looking forward to continuing to learn and make sure the Sheriff's Office is serving the citizens of Broadwater County to the best of our ability.

Once again Thank You for all the support and we look forward to continue to serve the citizens of Broadwater County!

Sheriff Nick Rauser
