Broadwater County Sheriff's Office

The Broadwater Co Sheriff’s Office, located in the heart of Broadwater County, has been protecting and serving the citizens for many years. Our office provides public service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to our urban and rural communities. Home to approximately 6,000 residents, our 1,239 square mile county lies between the Big Belt and Elkhorn Mountains. With four major Montana highways in the county and Canyon Ferry Lake as a local and travelers recreation area, our law enforcement officers and other emergency responders work diligently to keep the county safe.

The Broadwater County Detention Center, built in 2005, containing 46 beds, can house up to 50 detainees. A majority of these detainees are held for other agencies, including the Department of Corrections, and we are often near full capacity. The 911 Emergency Dispatch Center is located in the Detention Center as well, and is staffed by a handful of well-trained emergency operators.

Law Enforcement and 911 call-taking are a few of the many aspects of the business of the Sheriff’s Office and its hard-working employees. We are hoping you, as a member of the public, utilize this website to better associate yourself with the broad range of our day to day operations.
